You’ll oversee business performance, strategic planning and growth initiatives, and provide evidence‑based insight into our members, market and competitive position.

Partnering closely with the CEO and executive team, you’ll advise on strategic priorities and trade‑offs, support key regulatory and retirement income covenant obligations, and help position NGS Super with external rating agencies. The role also plays a critical part in merger and acquisition activity, helping position the fund as a true fund of choice for our members.

What you’ll do

  • Lead the development and refresh of NGS Super’s enterprise‑wide strategy and 3–5 year plan.
  • Translate market, regulatory and industry trends into clear strategic direction.
  • Advise the CEO and Executive on strategic priorities, trade‑offs and growth options.
  • Develop and test strategic scenarios to support fact‑based decision making.
  • Translate strategy into enterprise priorities, roadmaps and annual planning outcomes.
  • Lead the fund’s retirement income strategy and coordinate effective execution.
  • Oversee delivery of the strategic plan and major enterprise initiatives.
  • Define strategic outcomes, success measures and benefits realisation.
  • Monitor and report performance to the Executive and Board with clear, timely insights.
  • Chair the Strategic Initiative Steering Committee and manage delivery risks.
  • Maintain strategy‑related frameworks, policies and regulatory submissions.
  • Support merger, acquisition and partnership assessments as required.

About you

A big-picture thinker and leader with a growth mindset, you will bring the following key skills:

  • 10+ years’ experience in operational and strategic management capability.
  • Extensive experience in the delivery of strategic projects, with experience in various roles within the superannuation industry or fund management.
